YouTube and AI Slop

YouTube Doesn't Like My Stance on LLM

I recently made a video on the topic of AI and posted it to youtube.

If you don't know me, I am not pro AI (actually they are just LLMs, but gotta get the VC cash flow...) so I have a suspicion that YouTube throttled my video.

The Video in Question

This would be hard to prove, because it's possible my title and thumbnails didn't attract viewers. Here are the thumbnails:

I thought these thumbnails were pretty good, but if you want to watch the video: https://youtu.be/FV19lylFSIc?si=4cgW4aWoJfoCNm2- or https://odysee.com/@aveydotdev:0/you-should-touch-grass:c

It's also likely that my subscribers are either pro AI or neutral on it, so they are unlikely to watch it. Or they didn't subscribe for that kind of content. It's likely that most are subscribed for C programming, Linux content, and Embedded content so not watching a video about AI makes sense.

But, it's not too hard to imagine that YouTube will read the video's content and determine if they will push the video or not.

The technology exists to parse the spoken words and text in the video and take action based on if they like the direction of your video (it does parse the video for possible copyrighted material during upload). My channel isn't big enough to talk about whatever I want and still get a lot of views. So my theory is that they will throttle those kind of videos.

I had a friend who found my channel and said that video was great:

Yes he's my friend, but also he'd probably not say anything if he didn't care or like the video. And I'm not saying this video should have gotten 100k views or anything, just seems like it was probably decent enough to at least reach 1k views or so.

Odysee

I don't think it makes sense to continue posting non approved messages that alphabet/google/youtube disagree with on my YouTube channel.

That's why I have an Odysee channel: https://odysee.com/@aveydotdev:0

I have posted just about every video there, but in the future I will post exclusives there so it won't hurt my YouTube channel. Because I'm sure they will throttle my channel based on content I've released that goes against their bottom dollar.

Until I have many subscribers that it won't matter what I post (within reason of course) because I'll have plenty of subscribers who will watch most of what I post.

I am not looking for people who will blindly defend me like they do for Linus Tech Tips or Theo... who still watches LTT after the last few years?
